Smriti Mandhana, the dynamic batter for Team India, has achieved a monumental feat, becoming the first Indian woman cricketer to score centuries in all three international formats: Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Smriti Mandhana celebrates her record-breaking century.
This landmark occurred during the first T20I match between India Women and England Women at Trent Bridge. Mandhana delivered a spectacular innings, scoring 112 runs off a mere 62 balls.
As captain, Mandhana led from the front with a dominant display, hitting 15 fours and three sixes. Her aggressive yet controlled innings propelled India to a formidable total of 210/5 in 20 overs – their highest-ever T20I score against England.
This century also marked Mandhana's maiden T20I century, completing a rare achievement that no other Indian woman batter had accomplished.
Her century established a strong foundation early on, blending elegance and power. She skillfully countered England’s leading spinners, such as Sophie Ecclestone, with confident strokeplay.
Valuable contributions also came from Harleen Deol (43 off 23) and Deepti Sharma (7 not out off 3), ensuring India maintained a high run rate. Lauren Bell was the most successful of England’s bowlers, taking three wickets.
Mandhana's achievement places her among a select few cricketers globally, both male and female, who have scored centuries in all three formats. Her milestone is a defining moment, not only for her career but also for Indian women’s cricket, inspiring aspiring cricketers to pursue ambitious goals and overcome obstacles.
With this commanding performance, Mandhana has once again demonstrated why she is a leading figure in Indian women’s cricket – consistent, fearless, and record-breaking.
